He really could have been taken as a British director or American with some of his late 80s horror product (ie EDGE OF THE AXE DEADLY MANOR) but hes a Spanish artist with cosmopolitan sensibilities. Hes a Spaniard looking into another world, one which he knew very well and functioned within. What interests me most about Larrazs films is their Spanishness, especially considering that he broke in to the business with British co-productions and has a keen eye to the details of British culturecounterculture, life in London and environs.
